NILG.AI among winners of the DataHub Ruhr Open Innovation call

NILG.AI was chosen by Vonovia to collaborate in the Flat Finder challenge to build a Recommender System for the Real Estate industry

We are proud to announce that NILG.AI was among the winning startups of the 4th open call for the DataHub Ruhr. DataHub Ruhr is an open innovation initiative that creates matchmaking opportunities between major corporations in the Ruhr area and global startups. In the 4th edition of this program, 8 challenges were proposed by 4 corporate partners. From a pool of 109 applications from 20 countries, one startup per challenge was chosen to exclusively work on a 3-months collaboration pilot to solve the challenge.

This year DataHub Ruhr challenges were quite diverse, ranging from 3D modeling to logistics and optimization, to forecasting and predictive modeling. Take a look at the other challenges here.

In our case, we won the “Flat finder challenge” proposed by Vonovia. The challenge consists of building a recommendation system to facilitate the matching between prospective tenants and the around 400.000 residential units owned by the group in Germany, Sweden, and Austria. We believe that a key factor in making it all the way from the submission to being selected to work on this close collaboration was our previous experience and insights from a wide variety of industries. As a consulting company in AI, we have had the opportunity to make an impact across industries and geographies, working with startups to major corporations. This unique experience allows us to connect the dots and to identify patterns in the way AI technologies can be applied to different domains. NILG.AI is contributing to strengthening the national ecosystem that is transforming Portugal into a key AI innovation player in the region.

Of course, this is only possible with a passionate team, always thriving for transforming business opportunities into creative solutions.

We would like to congratulate as well the other startups that made it through the program (Bimspot, FusionBase, OmegaLambdaTec, Orbica, Roometric, Targomo, and Watergenics), as well as the corporate partners (BRZ, Evonik, RAG, and Vonovia) and organizers for their contribution to building relevant collaboration opportunities.

We are looking forward to working with Vonovia for the next three months on this intensive collaboration to showcase our results at the DataHub Ruhr Demo Day 2021.

NILG.AI, unlocking business capabilities using Data Intelligence.
